March 2023- Iceland second time round!

Well, what a trip in February 23. A smooth journey with Iceland air and thankfully not a ton of Covid paper work this time round ! Mixed weather meant we had a variety of shooting conditions including rain, sun, cloudy days etc and thankfully no huge winds. I took two bodies this year, my new fuji H2 with a 16-55 mm lens plus the Nikon 850 with the mighty 70-200. The set up worked very well as this meant no lens changing. It was a shock to see the number of tourists in Iceland but nonetheless the further east you head, the more you lose them. It is most certainly worth doing this despite the hours of driving time. Of course Vestrahorn was a wonderful day and I was lucky to have great conditions too. I tried a different take on this ever popular area and I hope you agree the shot paid off! I also spent time looking for more intimate and abstract landscape shots. In November I return for another trip this time concentrating on the ice caves and some aerial work. Let’s hope this trip proves successful too.
